Folio: Doc Maker

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

In short: Folio has no internet access and collects nothing. Your documents stay on your phone.

Folio: Doc Maker ("Folio", "we") is an offline document app for Android. This policy explains how Folio handles your information.

1. Information we collect

None. Folio does not collect, store on any server, or share any personal information or document content. Folio does not have Android's internet permission, so it cannot send data over the network.

2. Your documents

Photos you scan or import and the PDFs or images you create are stored only on your device, inside Folio's private storage, until you delete them or uninstall the app. Folio turns off Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer for its data. Folio removes hidden photo information (such as location and camera details) from the files it creates.

3. Permissions

4. Sharing and saving

When you choose to share or save a file to another app or cloud service, that app or service receives the file and handles it under its own privacy policy. Folio itself never uploads it.

5. Updates

The Google Play version of Folio asks the Google Play Store app on your phone whether a newer version is available, so it can remind you to update. This check is handled by Google Play under Google's privacy policy; Folio sends nothing itself. The F-Droid version does not include this check.

6. Crash and performance data

Folio contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting tools. Google Play may give us aggregated, anonymous app stability statistics (for example crash rates) if you have allowed this in your device settings. These never include your documents.

7. Children

Folio does not collect any data from anyone, including children.

8. Feedback

If you email us, we receive only what you choose to send. We use it only to reply and to improve Folio.

9. Changes

If anything changes, we will update this page and the date above.
